A Personal Approach To Skin & Body Treatments
Skin and body treatments aren’t one-size-fits-all. Different concerns can require different approaches, so understanding what you’d like to address is an important part of deciding what may be suitable for you.
At ELIXIR, we take the time to understand your concerns, answer your questions and explain what you can realistically expect. Where appropriate, Angela can also discuss whether a particular treatment or combination of treatments may be better suited to what you’re looking to achieve.
Explore Our Skin & Body Treatments
Our treatment range brings together different approaches to skin, face and body care. Some focus on skin appearance and quality, while others have a more specific purpose, such as hair reduction or body contouring.
Here’s a brief introduction to each treatment and how they differ.
HIFU
HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy and can be used on selected areas of the face and body. It’s often considered when concerns include skin laxity and areas such as the jawline, jowls or neck. Results develop gradually, so consultation is important for discussing suitability and realistic expectations.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses controlled, fine needles to create small channels in the skin. It may be considered for concerns around skin texture and overall skin appearance, with the most appropriate approach depending on your skin and what you’d like to address.
Skin Rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation isn’t necessarily about choosing one treatment. Different concerns can benefit from different approaches, and Angela can assess your skin and discuss a treatment plan based on what you’d like to improve. In some cases, this may involve a combination of treatments over time.
HydroFacials
HydroFacials combine several stages within one facial treatment, with a focus on cleansing, exfoliation and hydration. They can form part of a wider skincare routine for clients looking to support the appearance and feel of their skin.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating facial treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine facial hair from the surface of the skin. It can help leave the skin feeling smoother and looking refreshed.
Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels use a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin and are available in different types and strengths. The appropriate approach will depend on your skin and the treatment being considered, so consultation and treatment-specific guidance are important.
Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis is a non-surgical body treatment that uses controlled cooling on selected areas of the body. As it has a different purpose from ELIXIR’s facial and skin treatments, suitability and realistic expectations should be considered before treatment.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal provides an alternative to temporary hair removal methods for clients looking for longer-term hair reduction. Treatment planning depends on factors including the individual and treatment area, with patch testing recommended where appropriate before treatment.
Finding The Right Treatment For You
With several different skin and body treatments available, the right place to start is with what you’d like to address rather than simply choosing the treatment name you recognise.
Your concerns might include dryness or dehydration, changes in skin texture or laxity, or areas such as the jawline, jowls or neck. There isn’t one treatment that’s right for every concern, which is why Angela takes the time to assess your individual needs and discuss an appropriate approach. In some cases, a treatment plan may involve a combination of treatments over time.
If you’re unsure where to start, you’re welcome to get in touch and talk through what you’re looking for before booking.
Why Choose ELIXIR For Skin & Body Treatments?
Choosing a treatment provider involves more than finding a particular service. It’s also about feeling comfortable with the person providing your treatment, being able to ask questions and knowing your individual needs will be considered.
At ELIXIR, our boutique approach is built around personal care and honest conversations. Angela also brings a clinical perspective from her previous nursing background, alongside specialist training in aesthetics and beauty.
That experience continues to shape the way we work, particularly when it comes to consultation, suitability, consent and setting realistic expectations about treatments and results.
Experience Behind Your Treatment
Angela’s approach to skin and aesthetics is shaped by a combination of previous nursing experience, specialist training and continued professional development.
Her nursing training began in South Africa in 1986 and included practical, hospital-based experience across general nursing, surgical nursing, theatre, midwifery and community health. She has since undertaken specialist training in aesthetics and beauty and is currently working towards Level 5 and Level 7 qualifications in aesthetics.
This clinical foundation continues to influence her approach to consultation, consent, suitability and treatment planning, particularly when considering the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
